To reach the Nature swimming Pool known as Phodsumshrich, you have to reach Nongnah village Nongnah is a beautiful village located 30 km to the South-West of Mawkyrwat and 103 km from Shillong Meghalaya. It is surrounded by steep mountains and slopes. As every beautiful thing brings risk, you have to be very careful because it is dangerous. Nongnah Tableland is well known for its steep hills and fogginess weather. There are cave-like the Mawthyniang which is really amazing here in Nongnah village



Nature Swimming Pool known as Phodsumshrich, this place is unique because it's in the middle of the gorge, you have to be cautious while are here, walk steadily and don't be in a haste, In the root of your hiking you will find some resting point. From Phodsumshrich you can take a view of Bangladesh.

NOTE: You have to be very careful because with one wrong step you might fall directly into the deep George.


Nongnah Village


Nongnah has located 30 km to the South-West of Mawkyrwat and 103 km from Shillong. it is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in the area. From this plateau, one gets a bird’s eye view of the surrounding hills and valleys, besides the plains and rivers of Bangladesh and the Himalayas. When one looks from a distance it looks like a bed which legends say is the bed of the legendary greens. On this plateau, there is a cave, the longest of all caves found in Khasi Hills.

By Air
The nearest airport is at Shillong Airport (Umroi Airport IATA: SHL), 130 kms. from Nongnah, 30 kms from Shillong and , 100 kms from Mawkyrwat District HQ of South West Khai Hills District,

By Train
The nearest Railway Station is Guwahati Railway Station which is around 160 kms from Mawkyrwat, District HQ of South West Khasi Hills District.

By Road
Nongnah village is 30 kms from Mawkyrwat, which is District Head Quarter South West Khasi Hills District. Sumo and Tourist Taxi services are available on all weekdays except on Sundays from Mawkyrwat market.
