Where is Anini?

Anini is the headquarters of the Dibang Valley district. Anini is also known as the heaven of Dibang Valley. It has a breathtaking mountain view, very rich in natural resources. Anini is a perfect destination for adventure lovers. there are many unexplored places where you can do camping to reach there you have to trek. With much of its beauty peeking from behind the misty air, this unexplored town is the place to visit for pristine calmness. It is a small underdeveloped town, mainly because of its remoteness. Yet, it still has basic road and air links to the rest of India. The Idu Mishmi tribal people constitute a majority here. Most of Anini is located on a miniature plateau between two tributaries of the Dibang river, the Dri river, and the Mathun river.  Anini is marked by pleasant weather and immense natural beauty, making it a tourist’s paradise, appearing from the clouds. Its silence, beauty, and magic is almost untouched and can relax you to the very core. Besides the popular tourist attractions that include Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary and the Dibang Wildlife Reserve, Anini also has little villages of Arruju New Anaya, Angulin, Roing, Hunli, and Ranli that offer a wide rich cultural heritage from a tourism standpoint. Anini continues to be unaffected by the chaos and flurry of city life, owing to its locale amidst the different tribes that offer tourists to understand and explore the tribal culture and their lifestyles. Hunli is known for trekking and its cave temple of Kupunli.

What to do in Anini?

Mathun Valley:

Mathun River flows from the north-west and is joined by the Mipi River from the west-east. Renowned for varied unexplored natural water bodies and rare flora and fauna, Mipi is about 38km from Anini

Dri Valley

Compared to the Mathun Valley, the Valley of Dri is relatively plain but extremely picturesque. The river Dri which is rather choppy in the lower region becomes comparatively calmer in the upper areas, making Dambeun, a tourist attraction about 32kms from Anini, an ideal place for picnicking during winters especially. The Dri valley’s rather distinct from the usual trekking spots on the Mishmi Hills and involves minimal climbs that are marked by well-defined trails.
