LONGWA VILLAGE IN MON, NAGALAND



Longwa village is one of the best examples of it with the largest acres of encompassing area. The unique thing about Longwa is that the inhabitants of the village have dual citizenship- one of India and the other of Myanmar. The core people of the tribe still have brass skull necklaces at home that are symbols showing that they have taken these heads during the battle. The basic belief behind this was that headhunting can boost crop fertility. However, the rise of Christianity in the region completely stopped this tradition of headhunting in the 1960s. This village is a key zone to get opium in Nagaland.

Loktak Lake "The World Only Floating National Park"



The National Park Covering an area of around 40 square kilometers, Keibul Lamjao is entitled as the “World’s Only Floating National Park”. It looks intoxicating and like a realm of waterways and floating meadows, referred to as phumdi by the locals. This floating National Park has its own unique ecosystem, where Indian Python, Barking Deer rare species are found, the main specialty is Sagai Deer. Sagai Deer is a species that only found in this National Park. With the support of villagers and the initiative of the forest department, it has become the perfect home for Sagai Deer at Keibul Lamjao, Nearly 24,000 tourists visit Loktak Lake each year.


KAHO VILLAGE (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)



Kaho is the first village on the India-China border and lies just north of Kibithu on the banks of the Lohit River, it is located in the Anjaw District of Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast India. It is 225 km approx from Tezu and 390km from Dibrugarh. While entering the village it offers you a breathtaking view of a mountain river, which will take away all your worry. Since Kaho is situated in the easternmost part of India, it is a remote area, slowly it is becoming a tourist spot it is an unexplored destination. from Kaho village, there is a viewpoint from where you can have a look at Chinese villages with good housing facilities and paddy fields can be seen. Thembang Village" UNESCO World Heritage site"



Thembang village located east of Tawang-Bomdila road in West Kameng district, at about 2300m altitude is of high historical and cultural significance. The 50-odd households that live here are surrounded by a medieval fortification and many other ancient monuments. Interestingly it is not these historic structures, but the way of the people of Thembang, that has attracted attention. While most of us are unaware of its existence, this tiny village straight out of an impressionist painting has caught the attention of UNESCO, which has included Thembang in its Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.
